I want my picture on the Wall

The tell tale cat to complete the picture....what an interesting story for a child.

Moral of the story:  It is bad to vandalise, though it is good to reveal your true feelings. hehehehe...

D-day Sketches

Yet to be finished....but not today...I think I want to do some oil paintings today...mind you it is 'paintingssss'...in the plural...I am too greedy ....wanting to do many but it is alright...I have lunch and dinner planned and half prepared.
Yippee, we are still here on Earth, still in one piece.
God is giving us more time to accept Him and mend our ways! I am so in love with Him!

Another Series of Small Paintings on Flowers(work in Progress)

One thing I like about putting my paintings on the computer is that I can get to see easily how the colours turn out...sometimes I do not get the colours I intended, and subsequently I will change or improve on the same picture..
In this case, the large leaf behind the flower is AWFUL.....and OMG, the background is not good...I think I am not good at making it look 'modern'

The picture below after some 'extra' work done...looks better the one above...

More Sketches

Blue Flowers(Work in Progress)

A break from making  much needed paper wipers.  Went on to paint the blue flowers I wanted to do long ago eventhough someone had asked as to why I wanted to paint it at all when I had much more prettier flowers to paint.  I just like to paint the uncommon things, and hope to do that even more.

Roses from the Garden(In Progress)

Suddenly my rose plant began to bloom continuosly for the past two weeks and there are buds still .....enough to 'cheer up' the surroundings for Christmas...
Instead of snowing, we are having showers of rain, even when the sun is shining just a short while before(QUEER), and we are kept busy bringing in and out the washed laundry.

First attempt at soft pastel and also at painting a transparent vessel.....phew the roses are hard...leaving that
for a while , going for some fresh air before I proceed with my practice.

A Muslim Girl

Random Sketches

Sketching pictures from photos in the computer is indeed challenging and eye straining.
Here are two of the sketches which I am not going to change/erase and redo because of some
inaccuracies. Can I ever draw from memory?

Father-in-law turned Dr Jekyll

My first attempt at water colour painting this portrait of my very old father-in-law .  Lesson learnt...no need to put in the wrinkles if you want to please your patron; they will definitely be happier if you make them decades younger.

And I must not let my mother -in- law see this.  She will complain about using the wrong photo because my father-in-law was photographed just after he woke up fom his nap.
He is my first 'guinea pig'.  As for the ladies, they have hinted about not making them look like some characters in the 'Sim'.

The Pastor and his Family on an Israeli Trip

Work in Progress....a sketch with my new coloursoft  cranberry pencil.  I just love it and cannot resist starting on my new sketches.  I got too many that I want to do.  I am all excited with the newly discovered 'toys'. I think I am going into my second childhood but it is fun.  The word 'ageing' should not ever be used to describe the condition.  It should be ' new life' and it is even better with all the wisdom and experience I have gathered throughout the years.
Join me in the journey of self discovery, you haven't known yourself better!

White Water Fun at Sungei Congkak

A work in progress....wondering how it will turn out.  Am challenging myself to paint water and splashes of it.
Gosh, I have too many portrait sketches to do...dear friends, you all just got to be patient with me!

Seascape...sunset at Penang coastline

Not finished yet but just want to let you have a peek at what I have been doing....I have been rather busy following a challenge by a friend to finish reading the Bible , every chapter, every page and every verse of it by 2013.  I have been calculating. If I take into consideration the maximum number of free hours I have daily, more on Saturday and Sunday, also more on non cooking days, I could just make it.

I love to do Oil Paintings!

Works in Progress on a Saturday afternoon....

I had one in water colours if you remember.  This one is almost done and it is looking wonderful in oils. I am going to do the orchid series all over again  in oils but wait till I come back from Singapore in October.  The oil paints there are cheaper  because they often have promotions.

I will continue to do this next week when I got the right oil colours. I need to do some shopping.

My favourite pastime when I was much younger.  Now I am going back to do it again!  :D
