As you read my blog, you will find that I am trying to be a good Christian painter or hobbyist. Painting is my passion and I am trying to blend it into my Christian life. It is a good thing to paint or do a craft. You will experience the peace that is meant for you; nobody can take away from you nor can they participate in it. It is specially for you. One who does painting will know what this means.

Painting of a Hamster-a work in Progress
This painting of the cutest hamster in the world is for my friend( ex-classmate since 1971) whom I have met only 2 years ago after we separated when we completed our junior high.
Su Chin....I am beginning to love painting this and because of you, I have started to love painting mammals and I will start a series of paintings of these animals.

Malaysian Scenery...Penang
A work in progress...
Another work in progress ....or is it work in 'distress' ...hahaha....need to make some corrections...on the street lights......not bright enough....and I haven't done the reflections yet...just too difficult at the moment when my mind cannot focus.
All these pictures were painted from snapshots of Christopher Harriot, a local , and boy , his photos are too awesome! I think I am not doing credit to his photos...hahaha...You can get to see them FAA(Fine Arts America)

Work in Progress- 2
The next stage of this painting. A watercolour on acid free sketch book paper, although I had not sketched the scenery first. I went straight on painting with a brush starting with light colours first, just as I will do when working with soft pastels. It is a picture I had used from the blog 'Tired of London, Tired of Life'. I am painting an impression of the scenery, especially the reflections on the water that challenges me to paint them and the different tones on the water too; how the part that has sunlight looks almost whitish and how the part that was cast by the shadows looks almost black, and how parts of the tunnels look lighter due to light coming from the other end. It had me thinking a lot on the aspects of lighting and its effects on the picture as a whole.
I think the writer of the blog has very interesting pictures and it will be wonderful to try to paint some of them. Thanks to Tom, I must say!

Working With Soft Pastel Again
It has been a while since the last time I painted with soft pastels. I had to stop because I have weak lungs(I mean, highly irritable lungs) and breathing in the powder which got blown up by the turning fan was not very healthy for me. Lately the weather has been rainy and tonight is much cooler so, no need for the fan.
I actually like painting with soft pastels and one day.....one day....hahaha....I will have an airconditioned studio to do my painting in. That one day will be quite soon. My children promise me that. How nice of them!
Yes, my own studio....where I can paint and listen to my songs, talks, sermons etc without having to wear those uncomfortable headphones.
Here's what I managed to do tonight...it is not finished yet...Much to my surprise, the colours look more intense than I thought.

A Little More to go, Don't Give Up
Though it has been tough doing this, though probably there is an easier way to do this, I did not mind having gone through the process. It is a test of my patience and perseverance.
About 6 more buds to do...at times, I thought of covering up all in paint and forget about them. hahahaha....that would be very funny....besides, they aren't that nice looking. My son did not understand why I had wanted to paint them. He thought flowers would make a more beautiful picture.
I think otherwise. I think buds or dried up flowers are really interesting. Now , how am I going to make all these stand out in the picture. Wait for my next post. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope the picture will turn out fine.
