As you read my blog, you will find that I am trying to be a good Christian painter or hobbyist. Painting is my passion and I am trying to blend it into my Christian life. It is a good thing to paint or do a craft. You will experience the peace that is meant for you; nobody can take away from you nor can they participate in it. It is specially for you. One who does painting will know what this means.

The Beginnings.....
THE FOLLOWING SKETCHES/PAINTINGS WERE ALL DONE BETWEEN MID JULY TILL END OF AUGUST 2012...it is my earnest attempt to improve my skill and I strongly believe more practice will result in more experience, which subsequently will enable me to produce higher quality works. It is also one way I communicate with Him as I spend time sketching and painting all the wondrous creations. God willing one day I will be able to produce sketches or paintings that make people's jaws drop as they look at them. Glory to God!
<<< Pencil sketch of 'Jack', a friend's dog(from a picture of him on Facebook)
My very first attempt in colouring in oil pastels >>>>>a portrait sketch by pencil ...made a mistake in the hair but it would be a waste if I just left it half done...eventually I finished it . My son said it looked like a character fom the "Sims".... :(
<<<<<Another first attempt in colouring a flower using oil pastels...very difficult but have to finish it regardless...
This is my first in oil painting a road scene>>>>>>>>>> with traffic and in the rain...fascinated by the lights...still not satisfied with it...must get a smaller brush to do a smaller painting...this one is 5" by 7"
<<<<<<<<<Water colour painting of a photo...not sure what flower it is...just like the shape of flower and the light that is on the leaves...not happy with it because i think i should not have used black paint at all...
I like the vibrant colours(in oils) >>>>>> ...there are still some details that I have not put in yet...I thought I want to leave it for a while before I come back to it..Suddenly I feel I must paint the other things that come to my mind first before they all go away....
<<<<<<<This is another oil pastel painting of a photo of the sunset viewed from Penang Hill...please view it by bending your head to the right...will put it upright later...it is also unfinished because of the different colours of the foliage on the hill top...thought i wait a while before doing it...got to get the color values correct...I am still very inexperienced about all that...
This is also a work in progress>> > I have taken a picture of the portion that I have done...there's the sun lit bushes on the right side of the bench, two pigeons on the path, a concrete flight of stairs .....
I don't know why they are coming out like this , upside down and wrongly aligned :( and I am in a hurry to do other tasks...I wish there is 30 hours in a day...it is also a work-in-progress...I thought I like this picture of bachelor's buttons that my friend took, so I want to get it down on oils and paper...haven't put in the details yet....just need some time to cool off and will not want to spoil it in my haste....
Got to go to sleep early...tomorrow will begin at five and I have got only four hours to sleep....
Sunset at West Covina...watercolour painting ...photo taken by a resident there.
Yet another work-in-progress. A road scene at KL to Nilai highway...the usual weekend/holiday jam....beautiful view of hills and sky in the front of car..
.Beautiful flowers but difficult to paint with brushes alone...yet to finish up with
watercolour pencils for the intricate details...
Coconut trees in West Covina...growing so tall and in a clump...never seen in Malaysia where there are also a lot of coconut trees...why don't they let the trees grow freely sometimes???
This is my first water colour painting after three decades...it has been a while since I have done detail painting in water colours...this is my favourite and i am going to repeat in oil paints...
Sketching them first... i was not confident in restarting water colour painting after 30 over years...
one of the few sketched I had done before I started to paint again...i am going to paint this oil later.
My favourite humming bird...these birds often come to my garden and I could not catch them on my camera, so I may as well be contented to paint them from pictures of other people.
I was fascinated by the colours of the pond water and how the sunlight affected it...the reflections and all...It was a challenge to myself to get it on painting...i am not giving up...it is not finished yet..
My very first oil painting...the coast somewhere in central California.....Cambria?...the canvas was the first page of a canvas pad
One of the first portrait pictures which i was learning how to colour using oil pastels...it was not easy and the result....my son said it looked horrible... :(
This was my first sketch of a portrait and from it, the other sketches followed.
It was my mum's portrait picture and everybody said the sketch was good because it looked very much like her in the picture. Suddenly I found myself to be fairly good at it, at least they all turned out looking like humans and not cartoon characters. I was surprised at myself!!
